Advent early...

Long time comin'...

Well, for those who were curious I did not vanish or fall off the face of the earth. I have been busy with the first 6 weeks of school and new employment. I have been continuing my work at the Main St. Deli as the daytime shift manager. I also am a 3/4 time faculty member at Central Christian College of Kansas in the music department, with my emphasis in the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) area. I ALSO am in my 4th week as a Master's Degree student at Friends University in Wichita in their Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (MACM), with a split emphasis in "Contemporary Worship and the Arts" and "Spirtual Formation."

In other words: Keep us in prayer! Allison has picked up a part-time job at the Deli as a baker. She keeps busy with that a couple nights a week, in addition to projects around the house.

Well, I must be off. Places to go! We love you all and pray God's blessing and favor upon your lives!

Hey, All! I wanted to drop a quick posting to wish everyone a very blessed Easter/post-Easter season.

I have been asked to come to my grandmother's church and preach a week from this Sunday. I will be speaking on "seeing Christ everywhere." I will see about posting my homily on here after I deliver it. Your prayers would be appreciated as this will be my first Sunday morning homily (my fourth overall).

Man, time flies when you're busy!!!

As we are officially one week into Lent, take time (if you haven't already) to reflect on what is important to you. I recently finished Donald Miller's Through Painted Deserts, and just began Brennan Manning's The Ragamuffin Gospel, both of which emphasize the necessity of simplified Gospel, not the complicated Christianity of the Pharisees.

What is important in your life? What isn't?

Audio devotions for on the go people...

Hey, all!

A resource one of the priests in our diocese gave me for devotions is a M-F downloadable podcast called Pray as You Go. I've been using it for about a month and it is really neat and very convenient.

Also prayers for health would be appreciated. My sister, Lacey, who is staying with Allison and I is getting over the flu, and I am getting over a sinus thing. With my ordination on Saturday, 4 services on Sunday, plus Christmas day on Monday, who wants to be sick? Not me! (and not Lacey, let me tell you...)
